2025

I know, not much. Leading up to this I had planned two major videos that would have been sister projects: one on Spotify and streaming as a whole and another on AI. These fell through and I tried to get others going, including a video on Wish You Were Here, one revisiting Tommy, and another on The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. These were both massive projects as well and between me not having the same passion I did prior and YouTube’s stupid age verification process which I vehemently disagree with, I didn’t do anything. I am happy with the five years of consistent essays I did. Some were bad but some were fun. I know people who really enjoyed it all and for that I am forever grateful. Not sure what’s next in this increasingly stupid landscape of online “content” but if it ended here, I’d be cool with it. I’ll stop being sappy now. Enjoy.

2024

This is when I realized I was burned out. I had been making videos for many years by this point with essays being my prime interest for the last few in particular. I had found other interests by this point and had moved on to focus on those. The channel became an afterthought but I still tried to do stuff with it. My deep dive on The Division Bell remains one of my favorites because nobody ever talks about that album. Shut Up n Play Your Guitar was very topical, and if only people heeded my warning. Underrated April Fools video too.

2023

I think this was my favorite year making videos. I got to cover a few albums I wanted to for years (Dark Side of the Moon, Animals, Quadrophenia) while doing deep dives with Lavender Country and the Dark Side redux. It was the last year I had a ton of fun with it. Not to say I didn’t enjoy 2024, but you can read that description for more info.

2022

2022 was the year where I felt I really kicked into high gear and got things right. My dives into Astroworld and Frank Zappa’s opposition to Republican fascism remain two of my favorites (the Zappa one is probably my favorite period). Finishing The Wall retrospective was a major accomplishment as well and articulated my love for the album and all that was made from it.

2021

I feel like 2021 is a bit all over the place. Some of these videos such as the first part of The Wall retrospective and my dive into Infest the Rats’ Nest were strong but that others like my 8D audio and Imagine Dragon videos were lacklustre. It’s strange how something I love as much as The Radiant Radish investigation came out the same year I did a rather bland take on the Dead’s “Jack Straw.” I was trying to branch out but didn’t know what to do. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t. Whatever. That’s the fun of all of this.

2020

This was such a shitty year with a full pandemic and so much other nonsense but I think it's one of my strongest runs. This is when I got Vegas and was experimenting with the multitude of options I had at my disposal. Rock Is Dead is a great example of that, but so is The Final Cut and Moral Panic (both of which remain favorites of mine). There’s some “duds” but I look back on this era fondly.

2019

The most consequential year for my channel and most likely the reason you have come across it. This was when I made my response to the Nostalgia Critic’s video on The Wall. For some reason this blew up. I believe I was one of the first to cover it and, if so, probably inspired more people to put their eyes on it. Sorry. It was wildly amateur because I had never done something like it. Up to this point I was making goofy meme videos in iMovie. I didn’t know what to do so I tried a few ideas (including an awful attempt to capture Scott the Woz’s energy as a music channel, which Mic the Snare actually did!) to see what would stick. I have more stuff long before what’s here but it’s too cringey to see.

Live Streams and Highlights

I've always messed around with streaming. Before I did video essays I had streamed a few games in their entirety (Doki Doki Literature Club was one). I kept these going but shifted it to be more of a back and forth with chat about whatever. Sometimes it was a listening party, other times it was just a chat about Pink Floyd news. I never got around to editing everything but here's what I did.

Main Channel Memes

These were created before I had a second channel for whatever stupid concepts I thought up.

Misc

These don't really fall into any category and were throwaway videos.
